where is 'make'

#1 Post by dholl2000 »

I have to get WPA working by compiling from source as per a previous topic in this forum advises but a LiveCD session does not appear to have the 'make' command.

How do I compile from source using puppy-linux-2.16 - bearing in mind that I only have internet access from an WinXP environment not a LiveCD puppy session.

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... modules-2/
Puppy-kernel-source_216.sfs = Kernel Source
devx_216.sfs = compiler, etc.

This too helps:

You will need to create a PUP_SAVE file and put the .SFS files in the same directory as the PUP_SAVE.

Once you reboot you should have compiling support.

Before posting a question on this forum, you should first look at the help info in Puppy. The menu:
Menu --> Help --> HOWTO write programs for Puppy
has the answer to your question.

Things change, advice goes out of date. It would be sensible to state the chipset of your card and provide a link to the advice that told you you needed to compile. Someone may be able to save you the effort.
