According to openprinting.org its a paperweight:

I think this might because they only drivers are closed source.
Canon look like they provide drivers, though they are three years old, bottom of the page:

over a year old and the last post complains of no "lpadmin" command. I have lpadmin, I'm not sure if it is now included by default or if it was in the CUPS dotpup I've installed. _________________ Will

I had sucess getting my Canon i560 working in puppy but it does take a little work. The drivers for my printer was released in Japan only. See my posts in this thread to see what I did.
