Encryption of pup_save on Qemu-Puppy 2.15?

#1 Post by jannek »

Hallo everyone,
here the idea:
Having your data and your software on a usb stick and be able to use it on any other computer, and be sure your data is save even if your stick gets stolen or lost.

the solution:
Encrypt the pup_save file for example with truecrypt and decrypt it during the starting proccess of qemu-puppy.

I tried a little and gave up, since my linux skills are not too advanced. I mailed to Erik Veenstra (thanks), who liked the idea and might be willing to port it into qemu-puppy if someone figures out how to do it, since he is not so expereienced with the issue.

Did anyone have tried it?
Was someone already successfull?
Does someone have good idea?

greetings,
jannek

P.S.: i really enjoy qemu-puppy...

Encryption for the pup_save file is supported in Puppy 2.16.
