I have loaded puppy 2.14 and have had no success with wireless. My card is the 5006eg. ndiswrapper shows to load drivers just fine but no workee! I noticed I had a (hal status 13) message and googled it. I then found a ticket on madwifi's site that has delt with the issue. Looks like hal in madwifi has been updated to include the ar2423 chipset. Well I am new to linux and puppy and can not install the latest madwifi. So can anyone help with madwifi installation on puppy or direct me to another update or upgrade of some kind that will support this chipset. Would appreciate it.

Subject description: a little moe specific

Just to be a little more specific...it appears that 2.14 and 2.15ce has hal 0.9.17.2 which does not support this ar2423 chipset. I am pretty sure this is why, :unable to attach hardware: 'hardware revision not supported' (HAL status 13) shows up when I use dmesg in rxvt.

http://madwifi.org/ticket/713 shows that hal 0.9.18.0 supports the ar2423.

I have tried to download and install the latest madwifi 0.9.3 which I think has the right hal but following the steps on madwifi's site to install are not working for me.

Please help I am running Vista and can't stand it and this Atheros card is the only one I have.

Thanks to all who can.

EDIT: May 1st 2007.
The madwifi-0.9.3 driver is working well. Attachment removed. Now get it here -
http://puppyfiles.org/dotpupsde/dotpups/Wifi/drivers-for-Puppy-2.12-to-2.14/

I removed the sysctl utility from the dotpup, it was only needed for debugging.

You nailed it! I downloaded the pet with windows, then rebooted to puppy, then mounted the hard drive and clicked once on the pet. It said that it installed successfully but all it did was move to the root folder. Then from root I clicked on it once again and it installed successfully. I checked my network wizard and there was nothing new so I rebooted puppy and and ath0 showed up after reboot. Now that I think about it I am guessing I could have just unloaded ath_pci and then reloaded it and it would have seen the new hal...oh well it is working perfectly.

There was a reported missing file dependency:
/sbin/sysctl is missing libproc-3.2.3.so

I do not know what that means but it doesn't seem to matter

Thank you very much temestuous great job!

It worked for my Airlink 101 Super G AWLH4130 PCI card. I got the same error message as jlm. See this post for more details.
