Hi nic007,

Looks very useful and glad you provided the updates and suite in one location.

I have run across various threads in the past where you described their use. Would it be feasible to include some links to the posts where you offered more details about some of these utilities?

When you run the suite from menu, a first dialog will appear with general description of the applications. Most scripts have dialog boxes with explanations to guide you through the process. They are all rather user-friendly to use (I think). This is actually one reason I decided to put it all in one package because the threads and utilities are scattered all over the forum. Please use this thread for comments and any questions you may have.

Very nice!
Thanks very much for doing this!

Revision 1 of suite replacing previous, added to first post. Notably - those scripts which created savefiles should now name the output savefile correctly (if not, rename it)... and a few other small stuff.

Funny how you think you got all the bugs until people start using it.

Well this revision wasn't actually a bug fix, it was an improvement ("addage") to the code entirely initiated by myself. But I'm sure some users may experience some difficulties some time purely because of the vast pool of Puppy flavours we have. It's almost impossible to produce something which works perfectly for all Puppys and puplets (you will find that out when you try to produce something yourself). Also, remember this is the creation of one person with limited testing time on just a few Puppy versions,etc...but we are trying (at least some of us).

Final version released. Reworked the nicOS-SFS-Editor(Loaded) utility. It now has options to edit additional loaded drv's like the bdrv, cdrv, ddrv, edrv, gdrv, xdrv. Also added two right-click utilities.

Why not just post it as a pet?
It is small enough to post as an attachment to the first post.
You can attach pet packages, as long as they are no bigger than 256K.

Maybe a version number to the name, so you know you have the latest version.

I checked the latest nicOS-SFS-Editor(Loaded) utility.
Seems to have worked OK for me.

Thanks again for these utilities, all in one package.

I wasn't aware you could attach a .pet extension as is, that's why it was zipped (of course any file within the size limited can actually be attached with a fake extension but I find that a bit messy). I did not update the "build sfs from scratch" section when I first reworked the nicOS-SFS-Editor(Loaded) script. Everything that needed fixing should be fixed now. This pet package replaces all prior releases.

Tips - There are a few right-click utilities in the suite. These will display as scripts without icons in the Open With menu. Personally, I find this really ugly looking so I suggest assigning an icon to each. I use the nicOS.png icon in /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps for all of them. Looks quite nice. Also - you can symlink or copy the scripts from the Open With menu to the appropriate folders in /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith. The sfs related tools to the .application_x-squashfs-image folder and the pet related to .application_pet. This will also display the scripts in the immediate (top) right-click menu when you right-click on a .pet or .sfs file (assign an icon for these too).

This is the forum info on attachments.
It does not say anything about size limit, but it is max 256K.

Why are you posting the nicOS-Utility-Suit.pet package as a zip?

Just post it as a pet.

I've reworked the suite and offer it as an sfs add-on. Attached to opening post. Users who have installed the previous offering as a .pet are encouraged to uninstall that and use this instead.
