Busybox use?

#1 Post by scsijon »

I've been proposed a question and since I don't know the answer I'm passing it on to the community, and BarryK of course as he will most likely know at least part of the answer.

Question : Just how much of Busybox is used? What commands are most important and which are rarely (if never) used?

I have until the end of April before I need to answer if anyone has feedback for me please use this Topic.

thanks

Maybe Listing all used/unused Busybox applets can give you a clue.
If no or only renamed symlinks to busybox exist you can assume that those applets are not used.

Search woof-CE for the word busybox:

https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... _q=busybox

then do some research to see if there are any differences between the busybox version of the command vs the full version in the specific place that busybox is used.

Also , you can write a script to see which commands are symbolically linked to busybox.
