Any problems you may have.
Maybe find that something is working better.
.
see my comments below, other than still not detecting my internal SD card, it seems to work well.

all depends on the hardware, I have Dell laptop with ssd card reader that only series 3x and 4x kernels will "see"...so I run Bionic or Xenial or Tahr with one of those "older" kernels on that machine.

rockedge,

There is a lot of control over what a kernel can do and hardware it will support, when the kernel is compiled.

How the kernel is configured is very important.

The kernel has a DOTconfig file that sets what is active or not active and how it is activated.
All these settings can be set when kernel is compiled.

ozsouth recently compiled a kernel for me that activated the sound device in my Chromebook.
No other normal Puppy version kernel was configured to activate it.
ozsouth seems to understand this kernel configuring.
I am sure he could help you.

Example DOTconfig
Had to add .tar to name so it would post.
Attachments
DOTconfig-4.14.161-070120.tar
Remove .tar from name to turn it into a readable file
(180.51 KiB) Downloaded 137 times
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Thanks bigpup,

I do have quite a few DOT config files I've generated for all types of kernels

the real time kernels I make need about 200 patches and a deep dive into the kernel configuration to make one.

I will check out what you've sent along
