Does Ati support 1080P for linux and for Puppy?

Does Ati support 1080P for linux and for Puppy?

Does Ati really support 1080P or should I just go with nVidia??

Well although a VERY limited question, it is a good one.

I thought ATI was limited to 720. I also thought nVidia was not much further ahead with linux.
