Attached a zip file containing two SFS edit tools. Basically the contents of an sfs are copied or unsquashed to /puppyfilesystem (a directory created for the operation). You can then do any editing and repack the sfs file choosing various compression options.
1. nicOS-SFS-Edit(Loaded) - With this version you can select an sfs file which is already loaded from a menu and edit it.
2. nicOS-SFS-Edit(RightClick) - This version works by right-clicking any sfs file and running the script from the right-click menu in ROX. You need to place this script in /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith. You can also copy/symlink it from there to the .application_x-squashfs-image subfolder also in the OpenWith folder.

Notes:
1. The working directory is /puppyfilesystem and the new sfs will be saved to /. Make sure you have enough space for the operation.
2. The edited sfs will be saved as New.sfs, rename the file according to your needs.

Excellent tool Nic - had a quick look at it - been looking for something like this for a long time.

Thanks for the work which went into this.

Improved the script. It now includes the fdrv and more extra sfs locations in the selection menu plus a few other things to make it more user friendly. Uploaded to first post.

Hi, which of the scripts do you use for the remaster of DebianDog, I wasn't aware that it works for that too?

Does the mksquashfs version of x slacko support lz4? I'm not going to update the suite but will help you with some of the scripts, you can PM me.

Not only mksquashfs needs to support lz4, also the kernel should be compiled with squashfs lz4 support for being able to mount a lz4 compressed .sfs.

I've streamlined and updated the right-click tool. It has only one input screen now. Added to first post.

I've updated the tools. Some official Puppy's do not have wmctrl to control windows but most (all) have ROX so I'm using ROX commands to open/close ROX windows. Attached a new zip file containing the tools to first post.
