They are advertising the fact that they hacked the website...

they are idiots from russia ( i think ) and don't deserve the time of day..

All you can do is erase what they've done and move on...

This happened a while back in the www.freesco.org web forums..., Since no-one there had a linux system ( only windows ) i took it upon myself to go explore their website, What i found there was mind blowing...

:)

hacking a wiki - is a bit like walking into an open shop and saying you overcame their security . . .

I don't get it

anyway have done as you suggested :)

Oh i know , But they think they've accomplished something by doing that..

When this was happening in the www.freesco.org forum , The so called hackers would up-load a live video stream of some naked women's web-cam like every other day , Right after the previous one was removed...

"Hacking" a wiki certainly is nothing to be proud of, but neither is being derogatory towards other nations. If any, there are idiots everywhere, including the U.S. and Greece. I know a bit Russian, and I cannot see any evidence those wiki vandals actually were russians.

P. s. I suppose you meant "losers"? Someone who loosens (i. e. makes looser) would be a "loosener".

Good for you my friend you detected a typo...
...Thank you for the dictionary references also

Someone who is willing to spend time to hack a Wiki and especially a distro Wiki that threatens no one is both a loser and an idiot. My opinion.
Idiots and losers you may find in all countries including Russia, U.S. , Greece and Turkey (selbstverständlich).
(Since Antalya, I believe IS a city in Turkey...and I will refrain from providing a Google Map reference)

Talk about strawman. He said "idiots from russia", not "all russians are idiots".

actually, for some reason when i read it, i didn't think it was pointed at people from russia or turkey either, but normally i think i would read it that way. instead, i just kept scrolling to make sure. i would agree with blubb_fallo ordinarily, and i would never be sure either way unless someone (him) mentioned it.

you could by the same logic say "talk about strawman, blubb_fallo said that being deragatory was stupid, he didn't say that john was doing that..." but the main difference is that blubb was more clear to whom he was referring, so we *know* what he meant.

i would avoid even the appearance of nationalism, when possible... not because it should be required of me, more like to prevent tangents like this one. in any case, the only way to avoid idiots is to avoid people. win-some, lose-some, as another thread said recently. (but i'm not saying all people are idiots, the jury's still out.)

yes agreed , i wasn't trying to say that all people from russia were "Idiots" , Just these guy's...

i know they are from Russia , I was ( indirectly ) told that they were..., Besides that , I visited their website..

so true :-)

Sorry blubb_fallo, I might have been a bit trigger happy.

Agreed. Although I'm American and have no problem mentioning that I think about 85% of them are just plain stupid. Hopefully I'm not one of the 85% and just don't know it

If I go to a wiki page such as http://puppylinux.org/wikka/MeanPuppy or http://puppylinux.org/wikka/WiKI I am logged in as WhoDo.
Is this a problem or is it the same for everyone? I know the wiki can be edited by anyone, but surely I should be logged in as me, if at all.

You are using Puppy 2.15 Alpha - right?
WhoDo left his settings in the default browser . . .

Logout and login with your settings - it is nothing to do with this.

WhoDo made a mistake - no worries. It is fixet in the Beta

see second bug - fixed - here

IIRC that was in Opera, however I just booted a pristine version of RC2, went to the wiki using Seamonkey and found myself logged in as WhoDo.

Fixed in RC3 perhaps??
