Thank you Musher0 and everyone, for contributing to Dpup Buster.

Regarding Midori, that doesn't play YouTube videos, the solution I found was installing gstreamer libraries.

Hi josejp2424,

First up loved this Pup and want to see it forward the same as Stretch has and would loved to see this solved. I do not know what the answer is but obviously it is not just my machine.

As for Zagreb's question I have tethered it with my cellphone using my data as a tethered connection and it worked well no problems.

Strange thing about Gmail is that Midori did work but I use Icecat version 45.7.0 as it still is GTK2 and works with Alsa for sound. So I hope a solution can be found.

I thought it was a video driver for my machine but obviously not if it did the same on your machine. It happened in the latest Firefox build and one of Mike Walsh's wonderful works or was it Fredx181 - not sure, anyway would like to see if it happens in Chrome as well.

Try to launch firefox with:

Code: Select all

firefox --jsconsole
and see if you catch the offending library in the error console.

You don't need both. Peasy Firewall Monitor includes the old Linux Firewall.

With all due respect - I feel you should think carefully about who gets upset about "hate speech".

The Taleban are the ones who get incensed about other peoples opinions, appearance and religion. They destroy monuments, lives and hopes - why? Because they are consumed with their own opinions and FEELINGS and can't stand hearing about other peoples perspective..

Normal human beings consider it acceptable to express their feelings and their opinions - even if those opinions are "offensive" to other people.

Do you want to live the rest of your life being a slave to the delicate sense of offense that others have?

I hope not.

Those who accuse others of using "hate speech" are usually the ones trying to manipulate others into silence.

Speech is not action. It allows us to debate.

There is no such thing as hate speech - except by those who tell us to button our lips. They are the true danger.

Allowing free speech is not un-civilized.

Well have to say this is a nice Pup running nicely with the issues overcome.

Tried running different default programs with this Pup and installed lxtask.

I am going to continue using this as a day to day system.

Going forward the firewall needs to be included and libthai. The mix of programs is good and like the included other package managers,

Hi José.

I have installed both watchdog's firewall-ng and PeasyFirewallMonitor.

I mentioned a problem with "iptables" in our DPBuster to rcrsn51 here.

(@watchdog: where has the icon gone?)

Along the same line of thought (security), shouldn't DPBuster include Lobster's
GROWL-2.6b?

Hello all.

Hm.
DPB does not have xsel. (Before anybody asks: I have installed it.)

What does DPB have, then, to cater to the user's highlighted text, etc.?
Only xclipboard?

I have tried ClipIt and Parcellite in DPB, but they are the pits when transferring
your choice of text between two console windows, even when set to leave the
CLI alone. Shift-Insert works -- but not always, I found.

In some cases, I was able to alleviate the problem by creating my own buffer.txt
file in /tmp, and append to it / retrieve from it, but that stop-gap is not very handy,
It is limited to text, for one thing.

I have been testing DPB for the past week using echinus as the WM, but AFAIK,
WM's do not influence the X buffers. Or do they? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

TIA for any insight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S. 1), 5 min. later --
I checked, and DPB does have the xclip suite, but I have to do this
Code: Select all
echo "`lg /usr/bin/xclip*`" | leafpad
to get this:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 25972 fév 3 2013 /usr/bin/xclip*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 18216 fév 3 2013 /usr/bin/xclipboard*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 572 jan 8 10:26 /usr/bin/xclip-copyfile*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 389 jan 8 10:26 /usr/bin/xclip-cutfile*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 136 jan 8 10:26 /usr/bin/xclip-pastefile*
Normally. you can paste with a middle-mouse click.
BFN.
~~~~~~~~~

P.S. 2) half an hour later --
< lg > is the alias I have in my /root/.bashrc for < ls -Algo >

Code: Select all

alias lg="ls -Algo"
BFN.

Hello guys, here is the ISO with all corrections.

Midori now plays YouTube videos.

Installed libthai-data as 666philb suggested, that solved the problem.

Fixed Firewall-status, solved iptables.

New ISO download from Sourceforge.

Descarga ISO kernel 4.19.20 non-PAE.

Descarga ISO kernel 4.19.20 PAE.

The Delta file for those who have the former ISO
