Need AUFS put into kernel for testing...

#1 Post by sunburnt »

I went to the AUFS site to download it & only found a cvs link.
I assume a new kernel must be built with it compiled in.

Kernel building is a dark nebulous area for me... never had any luck doing it.

Anyone willing to help an attempt to fix Puppy-2's UnionFS branch swap problem?

Or if someone can post instructions on how to do it, I'll give it a go...
I had good luck compiling Samba server from posted instructions.

Come on now... Surely someone knows how to build AUFS from CVS into a kernel.
I assume AUFS can't be compiled as a module & then insmod it into the kernel.

OR... Maybe someone has a Puppy kernel with AUFS already compiled into it.
This would be GREAT! ..... AUFS is the future for Linux file system unioning.
