It displays the same page I see if I paste the link in the Firefox address bar.

But does it scroll down to the same post?
If so, I guess it is been fixed somehow in your Puppy.

And display the full link in the url bar? On my Puppy the # and everything after it isn't there.

Code:
# rox -U http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=1018477#1018477

Attached: picture of Firefox after executing the command.

My /root/firefox-start script:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
test -t 0 || exec &> /dev/null
rox /usr/bin/yaf-fox
if ! test -f /opt/firefox/firefox
then
 echo 'unzipping Firefox to /tmp ...'
 cd /tmp
 tar xf /mnt/home/PUP1/firefox65.tar.gz
fi
export TZ=EST
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/apulse:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
cd /opt/firefox || exit
test -z "$@" || exec /opt/firefox/firefox "$@"
exec /opt/firefox/firefox /mnt/home/PUP1/Palemoon_bookmarks.html

This does not work:
Code:
rox -U http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=1018680&sid=151e180cf31a0544591e371927a8c234#1018680

because of the ampersand. It does work properly if the ampersand & is escaped or the url is enclosed in quotes. This is normal for the bash shell.

It also works if the url in the urxvt terminal is clicked. It does not need quotes or to be escaped.

Great, thanks for the confirmation.
Whatever the difference is in that puppy, it'll be in rox or its configuration, not firefox startup scripts, because it works in the problematic Puppies if we replace rox -U in xdg-open with defaultbrowser.

My rox is version 2.11, unmodified (except for the roxfiler script), it's what came with the iso. bash is version 4.4.19. urxvt is v9.22

for what it's worth.
