The Poor Man's Merger FS

#1 Post by musher0 »

Hello all.

OP removed because of the misunderstanding concerning the meaning of "project".

It serves no purpose to keep this thread going.

If you have a sincere interest in my merger script, pls PM me.

BFN.

Hi musher0,

You seem to be on a bit of a high at the moment!
I had been curious as to the effect of Canada's decision to legalise cannabis.

Now we know. :D  :D

It's not "la mari". I tried it twice when I was twenty, and I never got high when I smoked it,
but 24 hours later! Treacherous stuff. Never touched it since.

It's not "the weed", it's cabin fever! Can't go out, too cold outside. We haven't had
a cold spell this bad in years. Keeping myself busy.

Putting together a remaster of micko's slacko-6.9.9.9 is leading me in all sorts
of directions.

Dusting it off, first of all. I did 3-4-5 updates of major progs: bash, rsync, etc.

Some edits, corrections of oversight: now I can use urxvt in slacko.

Am I the only one in the whole wide world who loves urxvt? Probably. Implementation
of it in new Pups is so sh!tty... If offered at all.

Where's my urxvt? I need to take a puff!

Plus a couple of new concepts I'm exploring, like this one. Which is actually an offshot
of a pseudo-RAMdisk I came up with based on utf format but that can only be mounted
like an ext2? (Go figure!)

Hi backi.

Give me a day or two and I'll be back with a howto!
This subject needs one, NOT my opus conversion script.

(There's a hint at the end of my answer to ETP above.)

@Flash.

Again, please destroy this thread.
There is too much misunderstanding.
I will post my projects for testing somewhere else.

Thank you kindly.

Hmmm, just logged in for first time since I posted about 'Projects' thread not being best for dev work on new programs, and Additional Software section being even worse. Sadly the thread (opus-related) has vanished. I suspect a misunderstanding on what I was saying. I understand totally why the new scripts/program dev work has been posted in this thread, rather than Additional Software thread (which is fine for well-established programs/compiles but not for programs under developement which require increased exposure to obtain necessary feedback to help the dev process). y previous comment was not in any way intended to be an attack on musher0; I understand perfectly why he chose Projects area (despite it almost always being generally used for distro dev work rather than program dev work): there simply isn't a good area provided for program dev work, which needs good exposure and sufficient feedback (not provided in Additional Software subsections, which are far too quickly buried and forgotten about).
