Hello, Smile

Does anyone know when the next Debian version of Puppy is coming out?
Will it be Bionic Beaver?
Will Phillip be the author?

Thank you in advance for any info.

Sky

Hi Sky,

Well, it won't be Bionic Beaver as that is Ubuntu's customization and rebranding of Debian Stretch. And it's already out thanks to its author, radky, albeit only as a 32-bit operating system and based on Stretch 9.4 while debian is now at 9.8: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=974590#974590.

Thanks, mikeslr,

'Stretch' what in the heck is that? No, don't bother, I'll go to wiki and attempt to understand. I'm assuming this 32bit will run on a 64bit machine? But, why? Is there an advantage? I thought 64bit runs faster with contemporary hardware. Sigh.

Sky

EDIT: Ok, so I tried out the Stretch version of Dpup32-7.5. Dpup is beautiful and running just fine on my 64bit machine. No issues so far. Thank you, Radky. Love the graphics, so bright, easy to follow yet nuanced. Those of us who relate to images more than text really appreciate the colorful icons over black and white text. Well done everyone.
