Strange behavior of personal storage.

#1 Post by SlyPhy »

When I boot the system the personal storage tells me I've got 14 Gb personal storage space with 13 Gb free.

Then all of a sudden, for no apparent reason it starts flashing red and tells me it is 0 Mb with 0 Mb free.

Why?

this is usually browser cache related

I have found also that downloading from mega.nz using chrome the temporary file is not flushed

is this a random event or happening after a while?

:)

It happens within 5 minutes of turning the system on without fail and regardless of what I'm trying to do.

If I left click on the icon it probes the drives to find that I indeed do have 13Gb still free but continues to flash and tell me lies.

Oddly, if I right click on it, the icon simply vanishes and only reappears on reboot.

That is normal operation for this icon.
You just told it to stop being displayed on the tray.

What version of Puppy?
Installed on what?
Hard drive, USB flash drive, etc.....?
Frugal or full install?
If frugal.
Save file or save folder?

What happens if all you do is just boot to the desktop and do nothing. Have no programs started or running?
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

I see you have the firewall turned off.
Is that what you want?
Do you know how to turn it on?
