Hello,
Machine: HP HDX18 4GB RAM 64bit
Distro: Tahrpup64-6.0.5
Specs on Libreoffice5.0-writer:
Version: 5.0.3.2
Build ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75
32 or 64bit?
The goal is to make Libreoffice5.0-writer the default word processor.
Starting with menu/setup/default application chooser, I choose Word Processor.
Default Applications Chooser 0.9/Word Processor tells me to go to /usr/local/apps/UExtract/AppRun
There is no AppRun. UExtract v3.18 is the executable.
At UExtract I choose the libreoffice.writer.desktop at /usr/local/share/applications
(Libreoffice.writer is symlinked to /opt)
When UExtract is given the 'ok' it then asks to select output directory.
What output directory to choose to make Libreoffice writer the default word processor?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
PS - Yes, I know there is a newer edition of Libreoffice available.

Not in Puppy, so going by memory
Open up the .desktop file for the libreoffice writer in leafpad.
There will be a line that starts "exec = " Whatever the command is in that line is what you need to type into field in the default application chooser.
It is "libreoffice --writer %U" (without quotes) in my version, but yours might be different, so look in the .desktop file.

How to make Libreoffice writer the default word processor?
Dancytron, Thank you
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Terminal=false
Icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/libreoffice5.0-writer.png
Type=Application
Categories=WordProcessor;GNOME;GTK;X-Red-Hat-Base;
Exec=libreoffice5.0 --writer
Do you mean replace the Word Processor line usr/local/apps/UExtract/AppRun with Exec=libreoffice5.0 --writer?
If so, then no joy.
EDIT: Got it! I took off the word 'exec' and replaced the line with 'libreoffice5.0 --writer'
Thank you!
