Hello Kennel Mates,
Machine: HP HDX Premium Series 4gb RAM.
Distro: Tahrpup-6.0.5 (64bit)
I opened Puppy today to find a directory named 'Hiawatha' installed in my 'home' file.
A message says: Congratulations
The Hiawatha webserver has successfully been installed on this computer. For more information about this webserver, visit the Hiawatha website. Please, give some feedback about your Hiawatha experiences on the forum.
What the heck?
I didn't install anything called 'Hiawatha'.
I went to Puppy Package Manager to 'un-install' it and there is no sign of it there.
How did it get installed in my Tahrpup-6.0.5 (64bit)?
How do I get rid of it?
Sky

Hiawatha is needed for "PPLOG personal blog" in the Personal section of the Menu so it is included in the Puppy .iso of TahrPup (and others). Clicking this menu entry should offer you a dialog to start and stop Hiawatha. It is only a small webserver which you can also use to host web content if you wish. Otherwise it should not be running. No real advantage to removing it so best to just ignore as has been said.
