Lucent/Agere/LSI PCI modem drivers for kernels 3.x

#1 Post by rerwin »

Having discovered patches for the 'martian' PCI modem driver to adapt it for 3.x kernels above 3.2, I created driver packages for the above puppies and any others that use their kernels.

The drivers are named "linux_driver_martian" because they include the supporting script and user-space daemon (whereas driver-module-only packages are "linux_module_..."). No modem "firmware" package is needed. The firmware in Lucid Super 2 may partially override but will not interfere with the 'driver' package.

These allow those dependent on the Lucent/LSI PCI analog modems to upgrade to Tahrpup or Raring pup.

If there is a need to support other 3.x kernels, I can probably build a martian driver for them. Just request one.
