I discovered these myself a couple of months back. There's a whole range of them, although, unfortunately perhaps, most of them seem to be for 64-bit systems only. There's rather a dearth of 32-bit AppImages out there..!
64-bit Vivaldi works without the usual Puppy complaint about running as root. Audacity, LibreOffice, Krita, and Wire all work well.....as do QCad, SimpleScreenRecorder, Thunderbird, and the GIMP. Stellarium moans about the version of OpenGL in use, but still runs after it's got that off its chest!
I would guess that for 32-bit AppImages, it's worth going to the websites for any apps you're interested in running, to see if they offer AppImages.....and in what architectures. But there's no getting away from the fact that it's a very neat way to run stuff, even in Puppy...
