Hi zagreb,

This is Jessie but the repositories are pointing to Stretch.
Is that a mistake ?

FRED,
YOU CAN CHANGE
APT IN ETC...
I OFTEN USE APT FROM MX-LINUX.
IT IS THE BEST!
MX-LINUX HAS THE BEST ORDINATED APPS.

ALLY,

Not about me. I try to see it from the point of view of an average user.
Should he/she change all in /etc/apt/sources.list.d to jessie ?
Or, if not, installing packages from synaptic makes it a mix of Jessie and Stretch. Which is bad !!!! (and takes lots of space because dependencies already inside the system (from jessie) will be upgraded to stretch)
No, sorry to say, it makes no sense to share an ISO like that. :(

Continued from discussion here:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 44#1002944
all great linux op.systems -debian,ubuntu, mxlinux...-
have functions- update and upgrade...
debiandog can not do the same?!
what about function "generate source list"
in great linux distros?
we can not take a new source list from debian or ubuntu?
Hi zagreb, I think you are confused about how things work.
Debiandog can be compared with Debian Live:
https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/cu ... so-hybrid/

As you can see, live images are offered for version 9 (Stretch)
These contain programs and scripts that are built corresponding with Stretch
A few years ago they offered images for Jessie, but now the new stable is Stretch.

If you have done (official) full install and there's a new version out, it's supported to do an upgrade to the new version.
One of the methods is to edit sources list and change e.g. jessie > stretch and do:
apt-get dist-upgrade

With DebianDog it's not that easy (although it's possible).
The way I see it is that it should be one or the other (Jessie or Stretch, not combined)
So in my opinion euclid3 should have "jessie" in sources.list, or:
Upgrade to Stretch by doing "apt-get dist-upgrade" , and remaster.
But... this may give problems, so better use mklive-stretch, it will build Stretch from scratch (and you can build/remaster further on that).
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=111199
Or modify rcrsn51's Starter Kit by installing XFCE and remaster:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=112784
Here's also XFCE starter kit I made:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 600#994600
Or modify StretchDog maybe ?:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=111789

OR... Stay with Jessie, it's supported by Debian (LTS) for some more years.

P.S. If it works for you the way it is, that's fine of course, but sharing is something else IMHO.

zagreb999,

The images attached in the first post.
Using mtPaint.
If you adjust the width scale, of the images, so they are no wider than 700, reattach them to the post.
They will show in the post as an image and not a download.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

For more than a year I use xfce4-panel from Stretch, no problems at all.
Something wrong with your setup... :?:
