Anyone found a way to get YouTube videos working?

Otherwise it's back to 27.9, I'm afraid! Sad

No backi, can't say I've found it noticeably slower, but then, having run it for a couple of days, can't say I've found any advantage from having installed this update either!

28.0.0 (32-bit) "just works" for me. Very Happy
And it's working better than version 24 did [which would eventually freeze Youtube video, and I had to copy the url to "Slimjet" to play the video].

Oh that's very odd; I just get the "loading" circle then after a little while a transparent message on the video screen telling me "If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device."
32 bit here also.

Have tried thus far in Xenial 7.09 and Slacko 5.70, two extremes, with same result. Will now go and update a Tahr's and a Precise's Palemoon to make absolutely certain.

Strange thing is Twitter videos play just fine as they do on 27.9, which has often been a problem with older Palemoon versions running on older Puppies.

From release notes.
Latest release: 28.0.0
Pale Moon is specifically optimized for current-day processors and as such requires a reasonably modern system to run properly.

So, people having issues.
What is your hardware?

My old pc:
3 Ghz dual core CPu
1.5GB RAM
+ 128MB RAM NVidia card (the video ram integrated into the card)
V28-Palemoon's normal web browsing ok, only youtube is a problem.
Youtube html5 playback starts, it works fine for some time, but after a while, it starts freezing.
Palemoon browser replacement, v27.9.4 I do not have this problem.

In xenialpup 64, the updater doesn't work anymore for palemoon, too bad Sad.
"the latest version number could not be retrieved."
I installed the version 28.0.0 manually by unzipping to /opt . Good news : it is much faster than the previous version. I will update my benchmark results later.

@bigpup

That's the irony, I've just been forced to go out and buy a (to me) monster, sparkling, state-of-the-art, machine with 4 GB RAM, dual-core processor, and with all the bells and whistles, after my old faithful Optiplex GX270 (that's the one with the notoriously dodgy motherboard) 1.5 GB, P4, antique workhorse, which I've been nursing along for close on 10 years, finally died last weekend.

Think that should be able to cope with a Palemoon update! Very Happy

I get the "failed to find version number" issue as well. is that a permanent thing or have they just incorporated updates into the software?

Needs to be updated from 27 to 28 manually, as detailed here.

Sounds like the installer program isn't compatible with the new "profile format" and will no longer work, though 28.0.0 has the "update" button at "Help > About Pale Moon" so it's worth trying that when the next update's available.

In Palemoon preferences is the cache setup to auto adjust or do you have it set to a specific number?

In Palemoon preferences, the cache is set to default, factory, auto, which currently occupies an area of 24.2MB.
This is not the reason for the indicated problem.
But I no longer care about v28, I'm back to v27.9.4, it works perfectly.

Why don't you use a 64 bit puppy ? V28 works perfectly on xenialpup 64.
