Qualys dot com

#1 Post by 8Geee »

Is anyone getting through to Qualys dot com?

My FF27 is throwing an "Invalid Cert" error "provider unknown" and does not connect. The ssllabs site used to do this, but I changed addy to qualys, and was OK until yesterday (b4 I did an openssl update the site fails, and still fails after update).

Possible browser specific?

Hmmm I see a date of Aug.15 2018 to Aug. 16 2019 on that cert. I'll try again tomorrow!

Rather strange error here "issuer unknown".

Tried again with CD-based version about 1 month old that did connect, and now does not. Wierd.

Who is the ISP?

#4 Post by purple379 »

There is one of the CA's whose stuff is being blocked by some ISP's. I doubt that is the problem I see with McDs / AT&T provider.

And McDs lets me onto qualsys dot com

just tried. puppylinux.org and got

Web page blocked
Access to this site is blocked at the direction of the venue providing this service as a courtesy to guests and customers.

The address bar says:

https://login.attwifi.com/blocked/block ... reeware%3E

Then the murgaforum gave me the same message. I did a restart, turned the wifi connection off and back on. then I can get to the forum page, and write this edit. puppylinux.org still says blocked.

I am using Windows 10, Google Chrome. I get the same block message on puppylinux.org with Edge, Brave, and Firefox. I guess I am going to have to reinstall Windows....

If one of you has cell phone, AT&T, maybe you can contact their Technical Support and ask them for a list of what they block and why?

I think I got my head around this problem.

It appears that the (OU) of the issuer <not part of the cert>
is the problem on FF27. This may be a bug patched later as the name is more important. It could be upon Qualys' last renewal that the issuer (OU) was blanked.

In regards to puppy websites being blocked, I used to have that problem at McD's. I could not post to any forum. The local restaurant manager should be made aware of that situation. S/he can contact Web-Services and the settings in the restaurant's router altered. Don't hold your breath, it may take months. The filter is at each location, not the ISP.
