Fixing wlan number in Pups - any value per adapter [SOLVED]

G'day, I have many Pups on each computer and now each computer connects to the home network and router via Wifi. I use Pwidgets in 32-bit Pups and Conky in 64-bit Pups to display on the Desktop, the wifi status among other stuff. I have seen that the naming of the same wifi dongle varies between Pup...

Convert savefolder to an adrv for the USB

G'day, I had the problem that the personalised save folder on a hard-drive Pup was incompatible with the personalised save file of a USB made by Puppy. Replacing one with the other did not work. Would a 'personalised' adrv_xxx.sfs do instead on the USB? If I remember correctly  ..................

Copy them from Bionic?

G'day pauloesb, Sometimes when I find Bionic runs something then I try it in Slacko/ScPup and it comes up with missing libs, I just copy them over from Bionic. Need a few Rox windows open - mount the Bionic puppy sfs or its savefile if some libs had to be added to Bionic as well and go to usr/lib or...

G'day ozsouth,
Thanks.
The general driver collection may come in handy next time I have to buy a 'Linux Support' peripheral - if not, it looks like your 'How To".

Repository of drivers for Puppy

G'day ozsouth, I found your original answer to the rtl8192eu wifi driver issue that led to this thread and wondered if there is a repository in Puppydom for these and other specially compiled drivers? For non-compilers   . Recently, I had to buy a TP-Link TL-WN823N USB wifi dongle that th...

Modem problem fixed

G'day, Thanks for all those who've responded to my strange problem with new Telstra Smart Modem (router). It's certainly made me smart - in the painful meaning of that word. By blundering around in the new "Arcadyan Smart" modem/router's internals (logged into 192.168.0.1 then using the de...

Telstra Smart Modems & Wifi & Whirlpool

G'day Chris, Thanks for the Whirlpool 'reminder'. Your link is a bit old (2018) but maybe there's something newer I can find. I'm on the Telstra CrowdSupport forum with this problem as well. A website run by volunteer helpers(!), given Telstra actual support (by paid employees) is of poor reputation...

G'day bigpup, Thanks for persisting with possible answers for my strange wifi problem. Do you suspect one of the three main wizards which seem to have been Ok for years now? When a Puppy won't connect, all three wizards fail to see my Smart Modem but do se...

G'day bigpup, Thanks for your inputs. But I don't think it's a bug in EoanPupEF as I have this same My-Modem-Wifi-not-seen problem with some other Pups on the same laptop. Some Ubuntu-based but others not. I think it's the new Modem, being the only common thread apart from the many Puppies I have. S...

Numlockx

G'day Peter, You could try this: Plan A. 1. In System right-click menu, select QuickSetup first-run settings 2. A dialog box should open something like mine in the attached image. 3. If you see 'Keyboard numlock' ticked, untick it by clicking on it. 4 Hit 'OK' and the Atom should restart with numloc...

Telstra Smart Modem Unseen in Some Pups [FIXED, not Solved]

G'day, I'm suddenly having wifi connection problems with many Puppies on a Samsung laptop. It has built-in wifi (=wlan0). Windows7 has had no problem connecting (came with the laptop). Using wlan0 had been fine for all Pups (32 & 64 bit) for years, but for the last week or so, I'm seeing erratic...
