Yeah. CatDude does an amazing job and explains it very well too. Even when I installed Ubuntu or Linux Mint earlier, I erased their grubs and installed the one that CatDude created.

On some of the blog sites, I have noticed that they don't run Google ads, but run some good open source ads that don't change overtime. Maybe this is an alternative too.

Thanks puppymartin. Yeah .. the router firewall can be a reasonable replacement for the Puppy firewall software. But, then sometimes you may need something like Iptables for creating more complex rules for better security. To find out what a hacker can do, we need to run this setup as a public site ...

Thanks for creating this.

I was going to ask the same questions - "any firewalls, webmin etc planned"?

Also, if you want to see a test Puppy.org site running with Web server puppy LAMP -> http://puppy.prit.us. This site is a temporary test only and will be taken down soon.

Here is the first test setup on the new server. Its basically the same site (Puppylinux.org) on the new server. http://magicofweaving.com Don't worry about the name. We are just using a spare domain name until some initial testing is done and the name servers of Puppylinux.org can be changed. Please...

Hi Raffy ... From what I have noticed, even if we keep static content, there can be real crazy and unrelated ads showing up. Google gets to decide most of this stuff using their algorithm. I came across this ad site called Ad brite who claim that we can approve or reject ads. We can also set a manda...

Hi Aitch .. I have not seen an option where Google will allow one to choose between ads. I know that there are other ad providers that do this. I will discuss with Raffy about this.

Even I had noticed some undesirable ads on the site.

We haven't updated the Macgic pets since Dingo. These are mostly tested only on Dingo and is specifically for converting a regular Puppy Dingo to a Macpup Dingo.

Maybe distrowatch should count a +1 to Puppy for every +1 for any of its derivatives. This should resolve the issue and keep building popularity for Puppy.

You can read this post to understand how to install a graphical grub:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27471

After you have installed this graphical grub, you can copy the message file from the /boot/grub directory off the macpup cd to your harddisk grub location.
