Hey, I'm a little late in respondong but thanks alot! I couldn't figure it out - XmmS would work when running off of the live CD, but not when I did a HD install...

Hey there, this could be an irrelevent comment but there is a option to display hidden directories in Rox filer.... it looks like .xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or something... there is the chance that this was overloooked, and maybe by displaying these directories you could fix your problem... if that isn't helpf...

Yes, i have tried the mplayer dot-pup, and I've gotten zero results with it. Nothing. It's a drag, because really, being able to play movies and such is important to me.
