Dell 1390 miniPCI card, recognized as being a Broadcom 4311 card.

Puppy 3.01 on Compaq Presario V6131EU

It does NOT run with installed bcm43xx module, you must use ndiswrapper and producer's Windows bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys files.

If you look in the other topic, I solved the problem with ndiswrapper. It does not really need only .inf file, it needs .sys, too; I downloaded it from Dell or Broadcom website (sorry, I didn't write it). My only problem now is wireless configuration for University's hotspot... but this is not a har...

I solved the problem with ndiswrapper. * * * ...HOWTO... * * * FIRST, you must unload the bcm43xx module. It doesn't run. rmmod bcm43xx Then: ndiswrapper -l This generates a list of loaded modules. If there's some module loaded, remove them with ndiswrapper -r moduleloaded (I didn't try with loaded ...

I tried ndiswrapper, but without removing default modules.

I'll try now, then I'll post all I did and... if it runs or not
(I hope it runs, of course :P )

Thanks

It's the same problem I have with Dell 1390 miniPCI card, as it is recognized as being a Broadcom 4311 device.

My post is older; it had about 69 visits and no answer.

I will put a link to this post into mine, so no-one will write twice the solution :p

Thanks muggins, but that file already has executable permissions. trapster: I tried that way, but the archive seems to be empty. I'll give a look to documentation, then install Java and see... How do I open a .tgr.bin file? <SOLVED>

Hi everybody!
