the wine sfs needs the 32bit compatibility sfs installed .... once installed type ldconfig into a terminal I wasn't aware of "ldconfig", and that is what was needed to get wine working. Thanks. Unfortunately I still don't have wine and wineapps in the Tahr64 menu... would be nice if that ...

Re: post subject

mikesir, any possibility that we could see your 9-step update as an "upgrade slimjet" script, that would be available in the user menu (like the palemoon upgrade)? (Have this script available when the slimjet.sfs file is loaded.) Great idea. But, unfortunately, beyond my paygrade. ...

I checked quickpet again, and clicked on Wine button... it IS an SFS file. I assumed that all the quickpet apps were pet files. Is there any way to tell, what they are (pet or sfs) without downloading? hi TJK, did i not put it in quickpet? if not, grab fatdogs wine here http://distro.ibiblio.org/fat...

Is there no 32-bit wine sfs file available for tahr64 (that I can run with the 32-bit library sfs)? (There's not one listed in the "official repo" sfs files, found in the tahr64 install apps menu -- and I can't find any when I search puppy linux forum.) Ideally I'd like wine32 with the 32-...

I hate to prolong this. Thanks for all your help. I know that I have an internet connection... but when Gpptp is "created" I don't even show a "ppp0" device (I'm doing some Googling on why no ppp0, but no answer so far) I checked my public IP address using "myip" which ...

Sorry, it took so long to respond. (I've been busy) I wanted to test in many scenarios -- I tried on two different comps with TahrPup frugal install and one TahrPup with pfix=ram. But still does not work. I thought it might have been a network/router issue, but then I was able to get PIA/Gpptp worki...

Thanks s243a, for all your suggestions. I've now spent hours and hours on this project -- way too much time. There's a few things that you suggested and one that I still want to try (installing with grub2 to /boot). I am able to install and run if virtualization/acceleration is off, but it is too sl...

There's been some recent discussion of installing Virtualbox in TahrPup, BUT I am wanting to know if anyone has installed Tahrpup in Virtualbox (or if it's possible)? This is the most recent thread that I could find on setting up PIA in puppy... and I've used the tutorial in msg#1 to try and get PIA working. It's been so long since I've done an upgrade... I've forgotten how to do it or if it's possible. (I hate the idea of a new install -- loosing all my custom installs and theme/color tweaks). I initially installed this version of Tahr64 with unetbootin on an ext USB drive, and it starts with Grub4Dos.

Has anyone used the PIA (VPN) install script?

I know that there is a Gpptp.pet and tutorial to set up Private Internet Access (PIA). And I have installed it about a year ago on 5.2.8. But that instalation lacks a lot. (You can't save username/password, and you can only install a ltd # of VPNs, and you have to run a terminal command each time). ...

mouse not working

I'd really like to try 6.0.3.9 beta, but I can't get the touchpad to work on my laptop. (I know my hardware is working fine.) I have tried the option available when the tahrpup window first opens: "if the mouse isn't working" -- but this feature doesn't work. I tried booting without xorg, ...
