Hello sunburnt!

Long time no see/hear indeed.

So, Puppy on Android. What ideas you have for touchpad apps/utilities/functionality though? Would have to be a very different Pup frontend?

Re: Eating My Words

Something's changed. Either Flash's attempts have seen some fruition, or gmail has made some kind of change for whatever reason, or maybe Big John has done a few tweaks silently in the background, but I have an email, sitting in my spam folder, for a gmail account Nothing has changed as far as the ...

I should mention, for rockedge's benefit however, that the same test gives an even lower score for registration activation email to https://weedoglinux.rockedge.org being 4.9 out of 10 However, the low score is for different reasons, hence registrations are much more likely to succeed. In particular...

Spam test results for Murga Puppy Forum

This post is very much in the correct subforum. Prospective Users/regulars need to understand that Murga Forum is not sending secure activation emails so many email services will drop them... Below is the problem with Murga forum email registration. Method: You can "Test the Spammyness of your ...

Get nothing when trying to register as new user though. Sounds like the forum's registration emails are failing even more security checks at Google or I ...

Re: Preventing address spoofing with DMARC, DKIM and SPF

Why do people keep blaming gmail/google as if it is their fault... Because it is Google's fault. They have no right to intercept genuine communications from a forum like this when a user has requested a valid login. Gmail is a free service. If you want to control spoof emails (e.g. send them to spa...

Preventing address spoofing with DMARC, DKIM and SPF

Why do people keep blaming gmail/google as if it is their fault that they are correctly protecting email deliveries against "spoofing"??? I'm pretty sure that is the reason murga forum emails do not get through to gmail - it is because gmail is correctly set up with DMARC, DKIM, and SPF. I...

And people want to mark this forum "read-only" in order to force puppians to lock-step with dogs and google acolytes? I doubt any Dog-only user really cares whether "puppians" move forum or not. Most of these inaccurately grouped together Dog-distributions have little or no rela...

I've had a long term intent to replace that TV connected box with a low power consumption alternative that I could leave on 24/7 - and use it as a web server type device also. The existing TV connected box is a bit too heavy on power consumption (and noisy, even though it is relatively quiet) to le...

People join the forum where the main projects/releases are announced and discussed. As long as the likes of 01micko, peebee, 666philb, fredx181, and other project/release providers do not move their main project threads to any other forum then there is no chance most any other member of the forum wi...

Forwarding audio

You are correct rufwoof. Audio is the holy grail since VNC doesn't itself do audio streaming. (EDIT: paid VNC solution apparently now providing audio though I don't know how well RealVNC works with VirtualGL: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/audio/ https://help.realvnc.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002...

Running modern 64bit apps 'on' your old 32bit Pup or SliTaz

You may think this technique is just some dev esoteric experiment and of no practical use to you. Well, perhaps you should think again... especially if you have one or more low-powered computers and one or more high-powered ones, then this technique could work wonders for you in practice. You may no...

The original post did not say it was for any (or any pristine) Puppy.

Re: Wish-List for a future puppy

Is there a comparable sequence available in 'da Puppy'? If 'no' could it be added in a future version? I don't have any Puppy on this computer, however if same method as in DebianDogs then you can: alt + tab to go one way (down) through the cycle and alt + shift then tab to go the other way (up) th...

Using Pup/Dogs as 'thin-clients' via VirtualGL on server

Three of my family (not me) are really into using Blender, but we only have one computer available that is capable of running the latest version of Blender because of its OpenGL 3.3 version requirement. Hence, right at this moment I am experimenting with running Blender on that server computer for r...

I haven't compiled IUP for a long time, but these slightly older compiled for use with gtk+2 dotpets (32bit and 64bit) could at least get you started probably: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=987611#987611 Note that I'm no longer maintaining these though, so not sure whether they'd ...

Oh I see you like IUP too. Works on most platforms, and as easy to code as all the so-called 'simple' script GUI frontends we use here. I'm surprised IUP hasn't had more exposure - I'm a real fan - if I was doing much more app/utility programming I'd be using it, but I'm not really planning much mor...
