It appears from Sierra site the 881 is in the same series as the 875s which I use. Those modems need 3 usb devices. If /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 works for you create /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 and ttyUSB2 manually if they do not exist. I had problems on my 875s and this thread might help http://www.murga-linux.com/pup...

My ThinkPad uses the Intel Pro Wireless 3945. In Puppy 3.0 and in Muppy it used the ipw3945 module and configured as eth1. In the latest Grafpup alpha release the module has changed to iwl3945. That version of Grafpup uses the 2.6.24.3 kernel. I don't know which kernel Pup 4.0 uses but this might be...

Possible wifi bug in Muppy???
This one drove be silly for a while. It appears that when using an Intel Pro Wireless 3945 card and doing a type 2 install, Muppy does not copy a very important file to the hd. That file is /sbin/ipw3945d. I have run through the install procedure 3 times and the result is always the same. If anyone ...

Need some modules for 3.01
I'm wondering if there is a kind Puppy (or Muppy) developer who would compile some modules for 3.01 so I could get my Realtek rtl8187b wifi working? They are located here along with a readme file.... http://www.datanorth.net/%7Ecuervo/rtl8187b/ I compiled them on VL 5.9 and the card works great. Reg...

I see a lot of folks having troble with these sound chips including me. I have a new Toshiba laptop that uses the snd-hda-intel driver. I can't get it to work in Vector 5.8. I can't get it to work in Puppy 2.17.1. It does work in Grafpup 2.0. I just haven't been able to figure why one and not the ot...

Try loading the ohci_hcd module. I beat my head against the wall trying to get puppy to see my Sierra Aircard in the pci pcmcia slots of my machines (it's seen as a usb modem) until I discovered this. It's the first distro I've come across that doesn't load it on boot. Modprobe that module and then ...

The only Aircard I see on the Sprint site is the 560. Is that the card you have? Serra provides drivers for some of their Aircards with the kernel and I knew my 875 was supported. You might try emailing this guy to be sure your card is supported. He writes the Sierra driver. Kevin Lloyd <linux@sierr...

I'm the one who started that post. I have my Serria aircard running like a champ on my new Toshiba laptop with the same steps outlined in that thread. I switched from M$ to linux 6 years ago and I still get stumped sometimes. A good support group like you find in this forum and some other distro for...

There are Canon drivers for this printer but they were issued in Japan only. In japan the printer was called PIXUS 965i. Check out this link... http://lists.samba.org/archive/linux/2006-December/016750.html and this one..... https://lists.linux-foundation.org/pipermail/printing-user-canon/2004/00152...
