it may be bad for for another distro - but afaik man pages don't work in puppy (man is just scripted to a web search) - and most pets don't include them. few embedded distros do, too. license info should be available in the binary - or simply google for the source if you actually need it - it's free...

irssi 0.8.12

Unlike some text mode IRC clients, Irssi is not based on the ircII code, and was written from scratch. This freed the developers from having to deal with the constraints of an existing codebase, allowing them to maintain tighter control over issues such as security and customization. Numerous module...

screen 4.0.3

In GNU Screen, there is a scrollback history buffer for each virtual terminal and a copy-and-paste mechanism that allows the user to move text regions between windows. When screen is called, it creates a single window with a shell in it (or the specified command) and then gets out of your way so tha...

ipw2200 has worked on my r51 for quiet some time now - a lot longer than iwl has anyway - one reason i chose puppy was for the 2.6.25+ kernel for it's better iwl driver. but sometimes the autoloading modules change order and udev or whatever screws all the names up - sometimes a module has an option...

dnsmasq 2.46

I'll guess that pinstall.sh isn't it. Read two guides so far that don't mention it. Anyway, I made a nice script that does checking - also recompiled for i486. I put the pinstall.sh in the dropbear-0.52-i486 dir - not executable. it works fine if drop is installed and I "sh pinstall.sh". -...

Thanks.

Dropbear 0.52

Dropbear is a relatively small SSH 2 server and client. It runs on a variety of POSIX-based platforms. Dropbear is open source software, distributed under a MIT-style license. Dropbear is particularly useful for "embedded"-type Linux (or other Unix) systems, such as wireless routers. Run t...

linetd 1.4

Linetd is a compact TCP superserver. All settings are controlled from the commandline. It is similar to tcpserver or sinetd. It does not use a configuration file and can be run from the commandline by a nonroot user. For a service, like dropbear, an example of use is: /etc/rc.d/rc.dropbear: /usr/loc...
