FYI, I recently moved my website and it looks like the Puppy mirror didn't really make the trip.
I'll have this back up asap.

Okay, I'm very out of practice. Can someone point me to a good grub tutorial? I loaded this little laptop with Top11, frugal, with the files in puppy2214 folder, but it's not booting right and I'll be danged but I haven't been able to sort it out. Used to have some good cheatsheets that I got here, ...

So, I get my hands on this cute little laptop and think that 214X would be a great OS for it. Can't do that without checking the forum, right? And what do I see but ttuuxxx is back! AND there are new .pets to add to the archive! How cool is this! ttuuxxx, I can't even tell you how cool it is to see ...

On a usb drive(bootable) you can store things within the save file(somepuppysave.somefs(2,3, 4) or outside the save file(usually in /mnt/home). I have a 32 gig USB drive that is formatted in fat32....so windows can see it, and so can puppy. I make use of a lot of portable wine apps, both in windows...

This is very cool folks! When I first started looking at PupNGo1012 (and following the main thread while wishing that I was able to play more!) I thought that a better little browser and a decent text editor/word processor is JUST what this pup needs, so thanks to all. Personally, on machines that n...

I finally got a VM to work with the recent crop of puppies with the 3.8+ kernels (Upup-Precise/-Raring, Arch Pup, Alpha etc). This baby is impressive. Everything worked out of the box. Even the VMware video driver. Very well done Mick!!! What did you have to do with your settings? Every time I try ...

Re: Updated browsers and other software for Puppy 4.3.1
sullysat, Shinobar put together a fairly recent version of SeaMonkey last year as a sfs package. I haven't tested it yet, but it is supposed to work in Puppy 4x (as well as Puppy 5x) and it includes the dbus files (dependancies). Have a look at his thread over here. Hope this helps, Monsie Hey Mons...

Would this work? Pemasu wrote: How I would update them. I would download from Seamonkey site the latest one, uncompress it and then I would swap the contents of /usr/lib/seamonkey folder, in this case the folder /usr/lib/seamonkey-2.13.1. That way you would get the latest Seamonkey and you would b...

Thanks Ray and Monsie, I'll take a look at both these options and we'll see how it goes. For me, this is a (perhaps) longer term issue than just updating the browser in 4X. I've built a hobby around refurbishing old hardware and Puppy is one of the distros I load most frequently on these machines, w...

Updated browsers and other software for Puppy 4.3.1
Okay, here's the deal... According to Barry K's development notes, 4.3.1 was the last "official" Puppy prior to moving to the Woof build system. It is also a very popular, stable Puppy for use on older hardware, which is important to me. But there's a problem. The browser in this version i...

Legacy OS 4 Mini is now mirrored
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I've added Legacy OS 4 Mini to my Puppy page, so now both versions of Legacy OS are available there.
Thanks to John for all the hard work! It's a real gem and I appreciate your efforts.
Cheers,
Sully

Hi Sheepy, I just stumbled on this one and thought I'd check it out. Looks pretty good in a VB with 256MB of RAM allocated so far, as long as I don't try to multitask. I had Chrome open when I opened System Info and everything locked up. Not surpising. Runs sweet so far at 512. I do have a couple of...
