I still have a few issues with Puppy 4. In the Puppy 4 series, my pc defaults to the Ath5k which does not work. I have to manually switch back to ath_pci. I also still have issues with the widescreen Xorg (I get "fuzzy-flickering" bars in two locations on the screen and have to switch back...

Don't feel bad. That's how it always works. You check out another distro for a bit and then you just head right back to Puppy.

Try going to the console and typing "fixmenus" at the prompt.

Good Luck!

I use godaddy and it is fairly inexpensive. I have had my site with them for a couple of years and haven't had any problems. They make it easy with an automated drupal installation (not that it can't be done manually). I set up a moodle server with them and it is very easy to manage with all of thei...

Hey, Rhino, great to have you on board. For any tutorials that are either outdated or refer to versions no longer in use, I'd like to see us get some help to maybe bring them up to date, or even create a few new ones, as Lobster says. Nevertheless, anything you want to offer as your contribution wi...

I really like the idea of a simplified web presence and the proto-puppy page looks very nice and more in line with what some other distributions are doing. I have contributed to this sprawling mass of a web presence that is Puppylinux by hosting rhinoweb.us which has the puppy linux video tutorials....

Seeing this thread bumped back up here reminds me that I need to get back to work on a new myPup :-/ It seems as though the folks at gOS have a very similar idea, but based it on Ubuntu so it is much larger. I wonder if the Everex computers from Wal-Mart would work even faster with a Puppy-based dis...

The buttonbar is a nice idea for cleaning up clutter. You might also consider using wbar. Wbar works very well in Puppy and it looks very nice. Check it out here.

There are several other older JWM themes floating around here on the forum. I had made a few dotpups for themes and put them here. I'm not sure if these will work with the current puppy, but maybe they could be modified into the current .pet format.

I must say that NOP is excellent. At first blush, this may be my favorite Puppy/Puplet yet! With just a little bit of customization I have a very functional and awesome-looking Puppy. So far everything works perfectly on my laptop. Great Job, Gray!

Puppy 3.0 recognizes and sets up my sound card on my laptop right out of the box now where 2.17 did not. I'll check out more later, but so far so good! I may boot it on 6 other computers just like mine and then I can report that it installs on 100% of my computers and see what discussion ensues ;-)

I am encouraged by many of the intelligent and non-inflammatory responses by some of the Puppy users in the comments section of her opinion blog. I wonder if the "deleted" inappropriate posts she mentions actually exist.

Nice work!

Seems like pretty basic flamebait to me. Especially how she keeps begging for flames or over the top responses. With a little research I think she would find that the Puppy community is not typically known for flaming. Although there are disagreements, we all get along quite well. I'm sure she is ha...

Re: myPup is a great idea

I wonder whether you have accidentally removed a module which is needed to make device detection work. I will check out the wired connection and see if it works OK. I may very well have messed something up. Thanks for checking out myPup! Please add any comments or suggestions for improvement as you...

Sounds like a great plan to detail your journey in making a puplet in a blog. Any details on what you are planning to release such as puppy version, window manager or desktop environment, browser, extra nice touches, etc?

Good Luck and keep us posted!
