I looked on puppylinux.ca but only found Fat Free 3.0. Is there a new link to the updated file and build back?

Thanks!

Re: LHP v3.01 digikam request, ATI drivers

I didn't know about BZFlag, just looked it up. What ATI video card are you running? Did Xorg DRI/3D accelleration work w/o the added drivers for you? (KMenu|3DCC|run 3D-Demo or xdriinfo and glxgears in a terminal.) I haven't tried the fglrx driver since 2.15. Do you have a link to kirk's ATI driver...

Hey Tazoc, Great stuff here! I have this new version of LHpup working on my home computer now in a dual boot with Ubuntu and most of the time I prefer LH. Thanks so much for the update to 3.01. Printing is working with my Epson and I d/l'd kirk's ati driver pup version and have fglrx going great als...

I increased the size of the fonts in the box to 12 instead of 10 which helped readability but pushed the fonts slightly out of the static boxes. Ah well, at least I can read it easier. In no way am I a 'hacker' / 'coder' so I have to ask is it possible to make the boxes adjustable? Would that cause ...

Thanks davids45, great tip! I have been wanting to do that for a while now. Would you know how to increase the font sizes for easier readability? Seems there is no love for MUT anymore besides me and Sage and now yourself. Typical that the mut always gets picked. ; ) I would really love to see a dis...

Kirk would you mind updating this with the new driver from ATI. I believe it is 8.42.3. It now supports AIGLX which is what compiz uses. That would be really sweet! 8)

The 8.40.4 driver you made works great on my puppy 3.01 installs and I would very much like to try and get compiz going also.

Kirk has made a .pet file available that works good at least for my x850, it should work for your card also.

I hear that on the big hi-def screen! Been wanting one of those myself! I was going to put some final touches on LHP215 first, but maybe I should just rename Beta5 to '215 Final' and save the rest for the new version. I would say that your beta5 is as good as any 'Final' I have seen out there. We ru...

Is MU's dotpup installer program in there still? Or is it just not in the menus?

Great puplet you have here gray! I love having xfce and no other wm's. BTW, how much extra space does xfce take up after removing jwm, geany, rox, etc...?

Yes, I would even be interested in helping where I could. I am not a coder but know the CLI, basics of Linux, and am learning the guts of Puppy where I can.

Great stuff with this lhpup Tazoc!! My wife and I both really enjoy it. Lots of little stuff included that really makes work quick. Example is the MD5sumGUI tool. I saw your short term plans for the k3b sfs file, and you may have answered this elsewhere, but I was wondering about your plans for long...

A few things I noticed for your consideration. Bringing up kcontrol or kcontroledit from CLI gives a blank config, no values to change. Petget program is empty on the left where usually all the progs are. Did you take out the freememmapplet from the taskbar? I also installed EZpup but it makes the d...

I also had troubles with d/l when using Firefox. CLI and wget to the rescue, no problems. Posting this using the new TeenPup 2.14 now and I can tell it is improved. I very much like the included CUPS and Java, thanks! Works good here with my Epson RX700. Java installed fine too. On the other side, t...

Welcome!

Linux has a bunch of great graphic programs, many on par with what the other side has to offer. GIMP for one is great if you haven't checked it out yet.

Again, welcome!

I have never used mercury so I cannot speak to it.

Yes with wengo you have to subscribe, but it can be used for the other protocols/networks also. Including AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, even gtalk (jabber protocol). There may be some others I am leaving out those are the ones I have used it on.

Good deal, nice to know it works on puppy. I have used it on Ubuntu but mostly on Gentoo with better luck than the other progs listed. It does need some more work but is promising.

BTW, what is the install size, memory footprint while running, etc...?

I have been running it on an IBM thinkpad for a bit now. Booting from cd and saving to a thumbdrive. Installed EZpup and XFce which makes for a nice desktop! So far everything has worked with a few bugs but those are being worked out. I don't think it is as polished as 2.17.1 but hopefully 3.0.1 wil...

Would you mind quantifying? I'm curious just how significant this increase is. Conjecture on why?

EDIT: Is this a bug?

If you have kde then try kopete (there are a couple good puplets with kde)(lighthouse has a .sfs & also teenpup) If memory serves then kmess might work. Also, Wengophone is an option but I don't think there is a pet package for it. This is one are that linux is lagging a bit behind the M$ crowd.
