Pizzasgoods multiuser.
If Barry really wants to get the attention of Distrowatch and its rankings by releasing multiple versions, then why not make one of them a multi-user version. Pizzasgoods multi-user. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=47410 Your average Jo would almost be expecting this with the likes ...

Moblin/Clutter for Woof Netbook Remix? D/top?, handheld?
Tronkel has already mentioned this in the Jaunty Puppy Alpha9 feedback thread and I agree :) I think this UI would be fantastic for Puppy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFJaDy6ySbU&NR=1 I have used Moblin a couple of times now and it has an intuitive and as its name suggests, uncluttered interf...

nutts4life Glad my idea wasn't too silly :D Being a non technical bloke, I'm never too sure whether to post in these high flying forums! Anyway having gotten away with that one, I'll suggest another lol. Would it be possible to add multiple menu/start buttons to the taskbar, dock or Xfce panel? Each...

Just a thought here, but couldn't a dock with stacks be modified to work like this? I tried gOS space recently, it uses the awn dock with stacks. I noticed that the stacks open in a transparent window that auto closes when you click the desktop. Maybe the stacks could be rearrange into grids and cus...

panel disappears
Hi Brandon, Thanks for making this pup. It ticks most of the boxes for me and my requirements. However I think there is a bug in the xfce panel manager. My two panels disappeared and after restarting them with "xfce4-panel" Firefox would not start from either the panel or the menu. Typing ...

same problem in DSL
I just had the same problem in DSL 2008. The panels disappeared and after restarting them with xfce4-panel Firefox would not start. Typing firefox into the console did nothing and when I tried to open the mozilla folder the computer froze. After rebooting a couple of times everything is ok again. St...

Sir Duncan, Thanks again for your speedy, informative and clear reply. From what I now understand, it seems that Puppy+Devx does indeed cover his initial requirements and would certainly be a painless way to get started with Linux. But as these things do, it leads me on to asking a couple more quest...

Thanks for the info guys. To boil it down, the IDE and distro are matters of preference, but the compiler you want is G++. G++ will come with, or at least be available with any distro you choose. A nice and simple answer, thanks. But one question, does the IDE provide a debugging function? Work with...

Getting started with C++ and Linux.
Hi all, A friend of mine who has been away from computers generally and programming specifically for about 15 yrs, has decided to start over. He has got himself a 3yr old (guessing) messed up XP machine that needs more than a spring clean. So he has asked me to help him get started with Linux and C+...

@ Prit1 This is a fine project, I love the mac look and have tried to make my xfce pup have the clean looks of the mac. But I just moved the panels around to achieve a similar user experience and use the Agualemon window theme and ifox for Firefox I haven't achieved anything like the look of your ma...
