Never managed to boot with raspup 8.2.0.
Follow my previous advice (twice recently)! Extract the image file and use USBImageWriter to transfer to a fresh SD card - it works every time. Leave the 'dd' CLI stuff to the gurus who use it everyday. One false step for neophytes guarantees failure!

'Fraid it's same old, same old. D/l twice, reburned twice. Changed video cards, changed machines, doesn't even run on laptop. Usually stalls at loading vmlinuz... but sometimes get EDD Error loading.... sectors... (long list). It is NOT my kit! Double checked Slacko 6.9.9.9 - never fails, not on any...

I only tested booting EasyPup 2.3 from a usb-stick. Worked ok. I don't go to the trouble of burning the iso file to optical media anymore. But, will give it a go. EDIT: Burnt the ISO to a CD-R, booted it on my desktop PC, both in legacy-BIOS mode and in UEFI-mode, both worked. Many thanks for that ...

Can't get 2.3 to boot at all, regardless of selected boot codes or none.
Re-d/l twice, re-burned twice. Always seems to stall at 'loading vmlinuz...'

Finally got 2.3 loaded on 4Gb machine but boot times horrendously long. Methinks too many kitchen sinks present now. Maybe too many concessions to guys with too much HW. Puppy was always intended as a small, fast distro wasn't it?!

make an SFS file of the repo to include in EasyOS so that the user need not download it, in case there is no wired connection for downloading. That repo contains firmware for many wifi devices as well as for other types of devices Great suggestion, rw. Found a few older dongles recently, including ...

RC seems to work OK. Default SM doesn't open up full page. When operating with wi-fi would be advantageous to invite connection before completion of start-up options so that time-sync can be completed ahead of X-restart. But, starting with wired connection, vide supra , - no issues. [It would be int...

I have found that having a thumb drive dedicated to easyos is helpful. He's right of course. But there's a guaranteed foolproof way of achieving success which I noted earlier. Ignore all that CLI 'dd' stuff that the gurus revel in. Using a bog-std (Linux) PC, d/l the compressed file (e.g. xyz.img.g...

Incidentally, wasn't Bluetooth a Danish invention?
I'm not very sure of this.
Apparently a gestation originated by Swedes and polished by Dutch.

Yes, I recognise all that you say, ruf, having lived through it. History provides an answer, though. After the war we had three rates of taxes: basic, sur- and super. Starting around the mid-30's% rising to 99.25%. It was OK for both Labour and Tory (Churchill) governments. Not sure inflation was ev...

Ah! So who started using BT to refer to Bluetooth? Shouldn't it be Bt? Too many acronyms, bad grammar and mis-speaking in this industry (and elsewhere) as I'm sat here sitting (sic)...

Claws mail is now on the repo. Brilliant! Genius! thanks a £m, $m, £A$m. BT doesn't make anything ! This is a shocking organisation. They've already had £bns of public money to install broadband and haven't finished it yet. They floated off OpenReach to avoid responsibilities and prevent customers ...

Can you or someone else identify A "killer" or "must-have" feature in Claws that doesn't exist in Sylpheed?
Not really. I used to use Eudora, then Sylpheed. Changed to Claws when it forked. Symantics really, just like it! Anything but Thunderbird...

Great fan of Claws (but not in Puppies). It has evolved (deliberate pun) from Sylpheed which has been in Puppies in the past. Whenever I load a new distro I usually remove Thunderbird (which is paired with FF) because it's bloated and has some idiosyncrasies. Some years ago, the favoured email clien...

Yup, works like a dream, thanks. Bit of a 'paint drying' job to boot up, but everything's there and working. Nice to have all the old familiar stuff too. Trivial, I know, but the background is more inspiring than the EOS default - might transfer it in an odd mo., esp. if we're screwed down for a lon...
