ok well i installed the pet rebooted and still the same error with MU.
i read the post and they said to install a language file from googlecode but i didn't see the file that he was talking about.......

Well the above was for megaupload. Right now I just tried rapidshare and it works! ..... and so does mediafire. So i guess megaupload seems to be the only problem. I have Mint Linux on another partition and Tucan and megaupload work fine, and all the tucan files seem to be the same it's something to...

it's funny, right before i read your post i entered the dbus-uuidgen and didn't know what the numbers meant. anyway i did that but i wasn't sure if the machine-id was suppose to have a .txt extension or not so i tried it both ways and still no success. also i noticed that every time i do the dbus-uu...

now i tried to copy the file = machine-id from /var/lib/dbus to /user/var/lib/dbus, and I'm back to my original error about hal.

also I have Gslapt installed and it seems hal is installed ..... hmmmm........

ok one more time , I found the icon and I figured out it goes in /usr/share/brasero/icons/highcolor/scalable/actions so now I only get the hal error... it's still grayed out like the pic above.....

progress! Ok I rebooted the computer and tried to run brasero by the terminal again and now the part about /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket error doesn't show up anymore ( and that file does indeed exist) now i just get the other errors. so now i guess i'm off to find this icon.......

thanks for the quick response. I found DBus-1.0.2.pet and DBus-GLib-0.74.pet and they were both already installed but i installed them both again but no luck I'm still getting the same error in the console. I have K3B installed and working fine, do you think that maybe there could be some kind of co...

hey wow, i installed the gnome.sfs and then the brasero.pet but for some reason brasero doesn't seem to recognized my cd drive. device is just grayed out. I think maybe i'm missing something..... my computer is a 686 and i have another partition with dreamlinux installed on it and the bresero there ...

Ok I installed puppy 3.01 , installed some kdebase and kdelib packages w/ gsplapt, then I renamed the sfs file to kde357_301.sfs. It installed fine. But this Time, for some reason I had more icons on the desktop,but they all worked. No probs there. I still get the same error I mentioned in my first ...
