Thanks Don570. There was no problem with my partition and I suspect that there's something in Barry K's script. Using the image I have successfully done a Frugal install to the same partition and also to a flash stick. I still get the same problem (first reported by Sage) on both installs with the s...

Hi ETP I thought you may have a second Window Manager included, just as in rapid pup you use fluxbox in addition to jwm. Plus in the spirit of testing, if it says something's there I usually try to test it out. Thanks to rg66 for the explanation. I said I was using two sticks to test, and I simply c...

Testing
I managed to break it. After exiting to prompt I typed: xwin fvwm95 (because that was listed as an option) System came back again but would not exit. So I did a hard poweroff and rebooted. The filecheck fixed the USB file system but on next boot the system came up frozen and mouseless. I fear I've k...

V3
I did a couple of V3 installs. First was to an old USB2 16Gb Corsair Flash drive - the DD took nearly I hour 20 mins. Then I used a new USB3 16GB ScanDisk Flash drive and the DD only took about 21 minutes. Both seem to work well - I have used them to boot on another quite different system - a Toshib...

Bugs and qureies
This is from attempts to instal BarryK’s Quirky Werewolf64-7.4 on my Asus twin-cpu Intel-based Laptop from 2009 (4Gb memory, intel graphics chip). 1. My first try at installing BarryK’s Quirky Werewolf64-7.4 was to a 40Gb partition (part of an extended partition) but for some reason Barry's install ...

After installing firefox I have begun to get this sort of thing when I restart X. I am not sure if they are related. The pattern of white-out is not always the same. I read somewhere that Barry has had difficulties with Intel graphics and Quirky-April Here are the details of my Setup for graphics: (...

Firefox
Installed Firefox from 64 bit .pet no problems. I have already switched to Firefox on other older puppies because of the difficulties of keeping Chrome current because there is no automatic updating. I agree about the Chrome memory leaks etc. I have 4gig memory on this laptop and still get the occas...

Gkrellm
I managed to find a pup that installed gkrellm no problem and it works just fine on querky / rapid pup V2. I prefer its simplicity over Conky.
I am looking for some way to add the gkrellkam camera option via a pet but cant find it anywhere on the forum.

Thanks for this Distro! I am testing it out. Very swift and it comes well-equipped. No problem getting it to boot using USB stick. Thought I would try using Grub as I boot everything on this laptop through legacy Grub menu.lst file. I copied vmlinuz from the USB to the partition (sda7 in my case) an...

Gkrellm and Chrome
I added another gigabyte of storage (I had an old machine I was taking to recycle and the memory fit) - and the Chrome 100% usage problem went away ... so Firefox seems to manage storage better than Chrome (I still prefer Chrome but I'll use FF if there's no Chrome on offer). I have been using C-F (...
