G'day, This has become a very positive thread - a big tick to this community. darelljon I like your design, but it needs a picture and lose the "go nowhere" links. I used to do that until I lost customers (I'm a little slow). Thank you Lobster for changing the Title of this thread. Raffy; ...

New home Webpage - Finding Solutions

G'day, I have just looked at the new Home Webpage for Puppy Linux and it looks very boring and very uninviting. I have a small part-time Marketing Webdesign business and would recommend this type of site to Accountants or an engineering firm. No bells and whistles straight to the point - wysiwyg. As...

There are many official, supported and unofficial Ubuntu derivatives: Officially distributions: Ubuntu Kubuntu Ubuntu Server Edition Edubuntu Supported variants:...

G'day, I know this sounds ridiculous but I managed to cobble a Puplet that's quite big. The DVD is 1.1gbs and loads onto my old K6 400MHz 64mbs machine. So I'm quite chuffed. But I'm very untalented putting it into a nice package that meets the high standards of the Puppy community... Looking forwar...

G'day, yes I've tried both of those - forgot to include them in my roundup - too quick to hit the submit button. Both excellent distros - TEENPup does come close - I expect John is working on something like that as we speak. When time permits I try most Linux distros and Puplets so I can report back...

G'day, Only one instance is running - checked through KP and Top View Sometimes I have to kill the process to stop my cpu overload - it slows everything. I'm running 3.01 with xcompmgr, opengl 7.2 in xorg not xvesa (no graphics drivers) - it may be affecting wbar (somehow) - will do further tests as...

GtkPool

G'day,
just made a pet package of this game - very fun very addictive - perhaps this has been packaged previously but I couldn't find it - I believe TEENPup has it.
Been tested on series 2, 3 & 4 series Puppies

Puppy Ultimate Edition

G'day, Ubuntu has an Ultimate Edition - just wondering if anyone has done an Ultimate Edition for Puppy Linux on a single DVD. If no-one has I'm a little surprised considering the proliferation of Puplets from talented developers. But then again it does kinda go against the Puppy Linux grain/ethos t...

WBar 1.33 maxing out CPU

G'day, Running wbar 1.33 on Puppy 3.01 and it is maxing out the CPU - 98.8% of the CPU. Any ideas? Apart from deleting said wbar, any ideas for a fix? Cheers Martin PS. Now I've finished writing it has now gone back to 0.1% of the CPU? Now that's wierd - I will also test this on another computer to ...

Toowoomba Linux

G'day, The Toowoomba Linux Users Group has grown at an incredible rate - people are interested in alternatives to Windows. They just need the information to tell them there is an alternative out there. And then someone to show them how to start. Puppy will play a pivotal role in Toowoomba Linux's de...

KDE3.5 vs. KDE4

G'day, I know a lot of puppians groan at kde for it's bloat but I find it an enjoyable environment. I still haven't migrated over to KDE4 - I still use KDE 3.5 on Puppy - and it's uber quick, easy to use and a highly productive environment. After every release I keep hoping that KDE 4 will be the on...

G'day Why Microsoft is a Marketing Deity? Sounds like heresy! But let's face it they do have a monopolic strangle-hold on the OS market... How MS Markets their products? 1. My dog Barnaby

Today my dog Barnaby died in my arms - he now waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge - to guide my soul when I pass-on. Barnaby was an amazing companion - Golden Retirever - he was the runt of the litter but he showed me his belly and licked my nose when I went to the kennel. Well he chose me! A quiet g...
