In case it makes a difference, I'm running from a bootable jump drive...

Thanks userlander. I made sure I did as in: /mnt/sdb1/kevin/programs/games/gsoko/run-gsoko That's a modified run-xrick in there. A straight /mnt/sdb1/kevin/programs/games/gsoko/gsoko doesn't work either. Click on the script or the executable, and voila! Lynn's Legacy (and others) work from the deskt...

Sometimes programs won't start in Fat Free Puppy 3.01.
Please forgive this non-essential question. Some games (or standalone programs) won't run unless I click the executable directly in ROX. That is, go to and open the directory and click it to run. I have dragged items to the desktop and added them to the JWM menu, but when I use these methods...nothi...

 OK. This might NOT be JWM specific. I just installed IceWM, and the same thing is happening. There must be a file that Puppy uses to keep track of the menu? I dunno... P.S. I'm booting Fat Free Pup 3.01 from the CD on a Dell Inspiron 1100. I use a 1gig jump drive with the pup_301.sfs and zdr...

How to stop JWM from reverting to old menu?
Sorry if this has been asked (or solved) but I can't figure out how to stop the menu in JWM from returning to its' previous state. I learned how to add a few custom items like XRick, XSok, Descent2, Synfig, etc. and change "Fun" to "Games" in .jwmrc. I did this as they did...

Finally....it's Puppy!
Hello from an xtreme linux n00b. I have been trying to find a distro that would run on an old Inspiron 3500 p2-300/ 256mb ram laptop for my sis. The great challenge has been to set it up with a newer distro, supporting wireless internet access, without slowing the darn thing to a crawl. I have perfo...
