So what I'm asking Confused to do is share with us in detail what he did to burn a live Puppy CD. Is that better?
No, but it would be a bigger waste of time to say it for the third time. Let everyone wonder.....

@ alienjeff, I was talking about Wave Rock, not Uluru, which as you point out, has particular significance to indigenous Australians. I was joking about the behaviour of dogs, not about any landmark of significance to other Australians, and I'd never do the latter. And we don't refer to indigenous A...

Confused, this thread will be a waste of time for anyone who reads it hoping for the answer, unless you tell us in more detail what you did to make a bootable CD. Okey dokey. I'll remove my advice. You can wait for confused to return and tell you what option he selected in the particular applicatio...

It looks like HPLIP might be what you need (you'd need to download the tarball) BUT I am really not sure - hopefully someone who knows will answer......

How about Vincent cocking his leg on it? That's what my boy dog would do if he got anywhere near it! (only joking)

Ok, I found a file, but no sound plays when selected in Thunderbird... Will fiddling with the Alsamixer make it play because as I said, sound plays generally, just not for the email notification?

Sorry, where are the sound files hiding in Puppy? (I get sound ok, generally. I had Thunderbird set to default system sound, I can see where I can browse for a specific file, where would that be? In the Thunderbird directory, or somewhere else? Thanks.

How do I get sound for email notification?

My email is set to play a notification sound, but it doesn't. Is there a way of enabling this? Thanks.

I'm going to experiment with outdoor stuff (I live in a one-story type of apartment complex,...and they frown on doing very much on stuff like that, I'd speak to the other owners, (or your apartment's owner if you're renting) about getting a proper central antenna system installed, or for permissio...

I've got a terrible headache so I don't feel like cataloguing my sad tale of distro hopping at the moment. as I believe it really is fine the way Barry created it, from an aesthetics view point. Yes, it's fine. The only thing I'd have preferred differently is the default wallpaper. Instead of a pict...

a lot of people are going to be disgruntled to find the performance of digital TV distinctly inferior. Yep, I reckon that will happen here, too. I don't understand why they can't just leave the normal tv and if people want digital they can get it. Anyway, I had an external aerial, but really poor r...
