Just for the record, I'm experiencing the same problems with lucid 5.28 and Broadcom bcm4311...I haven't tried Tempestuous's solution, as the problem is intermittent...I'll report news on that as soon as I'll try...

Michalis...I think there is something wrong with this version of transmission (2.20), since it fails to download anything...it gives a series of errors, or finds no peers...using version 2.21 in ubuntu works fine....I don't know if it's a problem related to this specific version or some incompatibil...

Nope neurino I compiled your gtktray (not with your command, as there is no "configure", just "make") then I moved it to /usr/bin (backing up the older before), but it behaves the same way....

I'm not on my pc now, but I can confirm it's like you say, because looking in htop yesterday showed many of that cmd info command...maybe you could try it in lucid too?
