Fantastic! Thanks npierce! The only problem is that when you click on "configure package manager," it goes back to the standard size (and the inability to resize). Is there a way to resize that window as well?

All I have to say is PfluxLite is great! I have been looking for a very lite version of Lucid 5.1.1 and it was perfect. My only issue is the installer bombs. I was able to install Puppy 5.1.1 on the same machine with no problems which has me puzzled. It goes through the install all the way through a...

Thanks so much Pizzasgood and eden6000! I had a blast customizing my friends' box. For anyone interested, this is what I did: For the startup sound I edited /root/.xinitrc and added the path to my sound file right before the last few lines so that it looked like this: #exec $CURRENTWM #v2.11 GuestTo...

Change the start up sound?

I recently tried gamepup which is based on 2.16. Somehow he had changed the start up sound from the double bark to a video game sound. How does one do this? Thanks

How to change the text color of JWM's program launcher?

In JWM, how does one change the color of the text under the program launchers on the desktop? I've seen screen shots of this, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Thanks

burn an audio cd?

I really have two questions.
1) How do I burn an audio cd using grafburn from an mp3?
2) How do I copy an audio cd from one drive to another?
I am setting up a recording box using audacity with Puppy. audacity works great on puppy and I really need to be able to do both of these things. Thanks.

Yeah I tried both of those. Neither one worked. I guess I was hoping for a "secret" one that was updated and worked with 2.15. I wonder if there are any dependencies associated with them?

Well to put it gently, it worked under windoze. I seem to have everything working now. :) I found the Xfreecd launcher and put it on the desktop. It seems to suit.

OK, sounds good. Can you point me in the direction of a k3b .pup file? Or did you compile it from source? I looked for a .pup file and couldn't find one.

Nero on Linux? With Wine? I didn't know you could run Nero on Linux. The machine originally had Windoze on it and had the burner software that came with the drive. What about K3B? Is there a Puppy version? I've looked around for it but there doesn't seem to be a recent version that will run. Thanks ...

Hey Bruce B. I appreciate ya. I noticed you are very active in answering peoples questions and thats great! Thanks for answering my many questions. As far as the burner software, which program are you using to rip your music to your harddrive? And likewise, which app are you using to burn to cd? Tha...

Is there an easy CD copying app for dual CD burner drives?

Does anyone know of an easy to use burner application for dual drives that "grandma" could use? I built this machine for an older lady that mainly will be used for email and surfing. It has two cdrom burner drives and she would like to copy music cd's. It has to be simple to use (ie. not h...

I put it on a different machine. Funny thing is, I got rid of 2.14 because of gxine. I found that xmms worked better for playing mp3's. For playing cd's I used xfreecd and it worked fine.

Well I found a sollution after much hair pulling (with not much to spare). I simply installed Puppy 2.15CE in a differnet box. It wasn't a Puppy problem it was a hardware problem. I don't really understand why because it worked before. Oh well. Thats what I get for working on old hardware.
