64bit version for UPupBB

I can see only 32bit iso's of UPupBB for download. I am aware that 32 bit versions can run happily on 64 bit m/c. Still, not having 64 bit iso is because there will not be any marked performance advantage of 64 bit over 32 bit version as far as UPupBB is concerned?

I coming days, I am planning to refresh the puppy installation. That time I will be more observant and give feedback.
Pl. tell me, while reinstalling puppy, would it be okay if I manually remove the puppy related folders, boot from flash drive and make new install? Or something else is needed?

With 4GB of ram you really do not need swap. I have 2GB ram and swap never gets used in Puppy. You are right. Swap not needed with 4GB physical memory. But I keep doing such things for 2 things-- 1) To test puppy, 2) Self learning. I hope it is all right with this forum. I get to learn a lot of thi...

But same permission issue.
Should I try deleting it by booting into Lubuntu?

Try deleting pupswap.swp again. Doing it the way you did before. Last time also, I had deleted swapfile and NOT pupswap.swp. Trying to delete pupswap.swp from ROX resulted in Message "ERROR: Operation not permitted". After repeating the same procedure (deleting swapfile), now there was NO...

Are you translating to do these posts? Your using names that do not seem correct. Sorry for my 'not-so-good' English. I did not understand what is meant by --- "Your using names that do not seem correct" You are describing stuff at shutdown I have never seen. I preferred frugal over .sfs ...

The shutdown should only ask if you want to make a save. Are you saying it also offered to do a frugal install? Yes. It asked me reg type of install. I preferred frugal over .sfs savefile. That's how I have folder structure for puppy. How did you get Xenialpup64 7.5 on the USB flash drive? By using...

I did like this-- Initially booted from flash drive -- first time shut down -- system asked me whether to save -- I chose 'yes' and did the frugal install -- then followed instructi...

Re: swapfilemanager 4.6

Now I can see 2 related files in /mnt/home/ 1) pupswap.swp (4GiB), 2) swapfile (w/o any file extension) (2GiB). (screenshot of file-manager showing these files is attached.) I can see the file pupswap.swp getting loaded while booting up puppy Maybe Lubuntu+Xenialpup7.5 64bit dual-boot combination i...

swapfilemanager 4.6

Let me port a subject from this http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=58615&start=59 . This is regarding "how do I alter swapfile size?". I have Lubuntu + Xenialpup7.5 64bit (frugal install) dual boot on laptop with 4 GB physical memory., Installed swapfilemanager 4.6 downlo...

Firsly did "swap off". Then tried to delete file /mnt/home/pupswap.swp using ROX-Filer by rgt-clk. 1) message "ERROR: Operation not permitted". 2) After a few seconds, OS halted with a message flash of "RAM remaining is 0. Pl. consider reboot...". I then made "swap...

pupswap.swp probably was made by the installer you used. What installer did you use? While shutting down puppy for 1st time, it asked me whether to save, then I followed the instructions, did frugal install. So not sure reg the name of installer. Should I delete both of these files and create a fre...

Sure I am talking about swapfile (while doing frugal install initially, I was asked reg swap file by the installer; I had specified size for that; don't exactly remember size 4 or 2 GiB). Now I can see 2 related files in /mnt/home/ 1) pupswap.swp (4GiB), 2) swapfile (w/o any file extension) (2GiB). ...

In Xenialpup7.5 64bit, I have installed swapfilemanager 4.6. Although I already have a swapfile of 4G which was created by installer initially, I wish to decrease it. If I use "Utilities" -- "Swapfile Manager" -- "setup wizard"--"create swap file", maybe it wo...

permission denied for installing new s/w [Solved]

In Xenialpup7.5 64 bit, while trying to install a .pet file (kept at /root/spot/Downloads), on dbl-clk, prompted for "enter the administrator password". 1) I supplied obvious options of 'woofwoof', blank, 'password', 'administrator' as passwords. In vain. 2) In terminal, changed password b...
