compile essays to python

this language was created in 7 hours to make a point about free culture. it may only be relevant to people who support free software and who have argued for or against free cultural licenses for non-software works. it converts arbitrary english essays (or other essays written in ascii) to python (2/...

ive done cgi scripting with a few languages, including bash. i abandoned bash very quickly because i decided it was IMPOSSIBLE (or perhaps just far too much effort) to do cgi in bash without exposing the shell to the network (for the local network thats not great, but for a public server thats terri...

As I pointed out, most computers have a headphone jack that will override the speakers (or can be easily configured that way). There are times when a quiet start is good. i dont want my computer to bark at me. i can appreciate that some do, but this is a feature that some people have a real problem...

There were a couple of digressions (the real topic was not, IMO, the "2-barks" sound itself -- and obviously not a replacement forum), but maybe it would have been enough for Flash to lock that thread, not erase it. it wasnt my goal to recreate the thread. though i call it the "2-bar...

fair enough. not thrilled with the outcome personally, but this is one of the better (less nefarious) reasons for it. thanks for stepping in and quickly solving the mystery.

why was the 2-barks thread deleted?

there were 2 pages of posts there. at least most of them were polite and reasonable. what gives? 2-barks is a forbidden topic? someone leaving development is a forbidden topic? systemd-udev getting dropped into puppy is secret? ive known this forum for more than a decade, im sure this has happened a...

Re: for those interested in the four freedoms: amendment

I have previously suggested a rule that can apply to pets for puppy. We can define "works on XXX" to mean "if you take XXX fresh out of the box and install this, it works". Anything that requires you to first install something else doesn't get the "works on XXX" term. ...
