Just installed Slacko 5.7 and then informed by Firefox that it is quite out of date. Is there any tutorial on the correct way to upgrade firefox. Cannot be done from the package manager.

Thanks for your suggestion. Before I read your reply I found another to do it.
Menu>Setup>UEFIinstaller
Don't no why this is separate from the other installer but it work flawlessly.

Feeling foolish, the symlink wasn't to an executable. I since corrected that error but it still doesn work. My link creation: ln -s /usr/bin/xsane ~/desktop/xsane
I then copied the symlink to the autostart directory ~/Startup/autostart/xsane

Finally got it to work. googling through multiple sites I found that there should have been a file called image-menu.xml I checked other computers I had and found the file existed in my Linux Mint 18.3. I copied that file over and gimp now works.

/etc/gimp is empty of files and directories
controllerrc does exist, it is in /root/.gimp-2.8/

Installing the libgimp2.o files as suggested almost works, I get a popup message when it is executed. The screen shot shows the issue, I don't know enough about puppy to take action based on the message..
