I'm using the standard Puppy calendar Ical, but am experiencing a problem. When i select an item and use the Edit Weekly or Edit Monthly option from the Repeat menu, nothing shows up (normal Weekly and Monthly options work fine). I had the same problem on a other computer. Puppy loads 2570 instead of 73. to change this you can to etc/rc.d/rc.modules2 and there you can change this.
Problem solved :D

OK, funny and maybe finally a breakthrough I hope Dougal gets a chance to read this as i think he'd be able to help. So i installed XUBUNTU 7.04 on the Asus system (it took 5 hours!! Sorry, You're right.
RAM = 64mb
In xorg i checked and apparently the driver is detected ok (as silicon motion - SM910) Looks OK to me.
Xvesa shows black screen and doesn't work at all

Yes it's exactly what i was hoping for to get as a reply :-). I just wasn't sure if something like that would work and which files i'd have to edit. If i only have to edit the fstab then it should go ok.

IT hangs EXACTLY when it 'logs into' X.
