I would really like to give NOP 4.3.1 a try. The posts above indicate that some people have been able to download it successfully, but currently, that site requires login. Is there any other place where the iso is available?

blubbo; Search for my xfilemount app., it mounts ISO SFS 2FS 3FS etc. Oh I am aware of your xfilemount. :) It's yet another cute tool that eases daily puppy life - thanks! I was talking about launching (as opposed to mounting) any bootable cd image inside puppy with just a click. I can do that in m...

they are idiots from russia ( i think ) and don't deserve the time of day.. Yeah...some from Russia, some from Turkey... "Hacking" a wiki certainly is nothing to be proud of, but neither is being derogatory towards other nations. If any, there are idiots everywhere, including the U.S. and...

That GUI looks really promising! I didn't comment on it yet just because I haven't found the time to try anything. Does it also append to existing sfs, and if so, in which directory-keep mode? On another matter: I am still puzzled by your repeated statements that there is a limit of 5 mounts to unio...

Thanks, Mark, for reactivating the d/l. MicroMuppyOpera - that's a pretty lengthy name for such a tiny OS! How about "MMO"? After all, the www is the greatest MMO ever, and this OS is designed to explore it. First off, it did not boot with 32 MiB ram. (I tried PuppyOpera - that did.)...

for an (arbitrary) example of a collection that might be labelled "core" it's not the least bit arbitrary. it's an Example, to be sure, but a carefully weighed one. all I notice that my remark may have sounded somewhat dismissive. Sorry - it was not meant that way. I "arbitrarily&quo...

Instead of putting the most likely wanted "core" apps into a single sfs, their (separate) modules could be preselected in the modpup menu to allow for easy first time booting. here we have a difference in philosophy. I guess, we do have differences somewhere, but I'm not sure whether this...

Wow, so many people suddenly thinking about the same stuff. :D I'd prefer "barebones" being nothing but bare bones (low level, up to at most wizards, MUT, Links/dillo/hv3 or the like), and "core" already being separate modules. Apps which the user is likely to regard as redundant...

Phew, an whole lot of interesting stuff to read. ;) Thanks for the pointer, arnish. My idea indeed seems to coincede with wide parts of yours and even more with what NathanF apparently has already done in Grafpup (which I haven't tried yet). Aren't the size figures still a bit high? As an admittedly...

Modpup? Please!

I believe that puppy could profit from becoming more modular. Puppy unleashed gives wonderful freedom to everyone who wants to make his/her own customized distro. On the other hand, that procedure mostly is a one way street. Unfortunately, I'm much worse at implementing ideas than at having them. Th...

As a slight enhancement, you may feed google with

(yoursearchtermshere) site:murga-linux.com

That makes it focus on this site. ;)

Anyway, just a workaround.

Forum search option "for all terms" ignored?

In my impression, the forum search option "Search for all terms" sometimes behaves just as "Search for any terms or use query as entered" . I wanted to post about this recently already. When I tried to set up an example, I couldn't seem to find one that reliably reproduced the qu...

äöühhmm ... Jippie! :D

Danke. :)

Umlaute in PuppyOpera?
