Lots of dependancies missing on Pup 4.0 for the plugins package.
.pls doesn't work either, .e.g. shoutcast. Bummer :(

Can anyone recommend a low resource player for 4.0 that plays shoutcast?
Gxine is a pig and crashes on this distro.

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply, Puppy 4.0 worked exactly as you've described. This has been very challenging hardware to get Linux installed on, and I've finally found a home for it at Puppy. Thank-you! @muggins, I have 128MB RAM. I cheated a bit on the install. I physically removed my hard drive ...

I have a Toshiba Portege 3110ct with a Trident Cyber 9525 video chipset. I've seen this particular machine mentioned several times in this thread, but it is unclear if a fix for it made it into any particular version on Puppy. I am coming here fresh off of trying to get DSL to run Xvesa unsuccessful...

GuestToo, can you expand a bit on what you can and can't do from the user spot? Can you install dotpups and would the config files from those dotpups be placed in /root/spot? In other words, in a distro that has a user with /home, if I install say gkrellm, gkrellm's config files and themes would be ...

When running from the LiveCD, Puppy will automatically upgrade itself upon boot. I don't know how the hard-drive install differs, but you could probably just boot to the new CD and see what happens. BrianC , thanks for the reply, but I'd like a few more answers. Basically you are saying to 'wing' i...
