elusive ndiswrapper
Hi everybody, thank you very much ttuuxxx for this great version, I am really enjoying it! However, I have one problem: Yesterday I put 4.31.1 (old X.org, if that is pertinent to this case) instead of 4.1 Frugal Instal on a Dell Latitude D600; when I try to use ndiswrapper to load the win driver for...

grub problem -- resolved!
Certainly is! You have to reset the jumpers on the HD, presuming your BIOS is set correctly. Easy to overlook in the melee`. All functional drives MUST be detected. That's it! I switched the cables in HD and DVD sockets (DVD connected to the primary one, now HD does) and reset the jumpers on the HD...

If you're up to taking the covers off your computer, the <snip!> hard drive. If the failed hard drive is still in the computer, you can leave it disconnected. Tried that too, thanks for the idea. The results: when I moved the HD cable to another available slot on the motherboard everything seemed p...

Hi Arslan, If Grub sees your primary partition (hde1) in a similar way and your puppy files are located on that partition then the references to (hd0,0) in menu.lst need to be (hd2,0). Once Grub has found the Puppy files I am not sure how Puppy will react, but let's get past Grub first! ICPUG Right...

How to configure Grub for Puppy on hde2 ? (Solved)
Hi Puppy people, I have a computer that used to have 2 HDs (one for XP system -- C: -- and the other for data storage -- D:). Then the one with the system died, and I had the remaining disk partitioned in 2 (by a technician in a store, I did not do it myself), so that now I have one small WinXP syst...

A very simple Win98/Puppy dual boot with grub
Hi Puppy people, I thought I'd share this with you: For a while I had been using HD installed Puppy 2.13 with WakePup2 diskette as the booting method. However, I desired a more elegant solution. So I downloaded Grub for DOS (http://sarovar.org/download.php/1138/grub_for_dos-0.4.2.zip), put grub.exe ...

strange problem with SB AWE 64 Gold ***RESOLVED***
Hi Puppy people, here's my problem: I first used Puppy 2.01 and it wouldn't recognize my SB AWE 64 Gold. So I installed alsacore-1.0.10-0124.pup and alsa-oss.pup, the card was immediately recognized and worked flawlessly. Sweet! :) A week ago I started using 2.13 Seamonkey Fulldrivers. I run it off ...
